All the gizmos and gadgets, tools and techniques would not end this horrible skin condition. Make-up only made things worse and I new I could not hide from it any longer. I had to go to the source. I had to address what was going on inside my body.

This article may shed some light on whay may help.

Acne Cures: Is there a Natural Acne Cure that Works?

Are there natural acne cures that work or is it a new age myth? Is there a permanent cure for acne or are all acne sufferers sentenced to the Sisyphean battle of tackling the ‘on the surface’ symptoms? Is there an honest, natural and safer alternative to the endless use of over the counters and to the nasty side effects inflicted by conventional drugs, creams and topical acne treatments?

Most dermatologists and other western medicine followers have already answered that controversial question by claiming that acne, among other diseases simply cannot be cured.

There are 2 reasons for that:

1. Most dermatologists don't even know what the real cause of acne is. It's amazing but true. They are highly familiar with the symptoms of acne and they specialize in tackling the 'on the surface' symptoms, but unfortunately they cannot tell you what the internal conditions are that cause your acne to form in the first place. If you don't believe me just ask your dermatologist.

2. Most doctors work in conjunction with the pharmaceutical and drug companies and the latter is not motivated, so to speak, at discovering a cure for Acne or Aids or Cancer - simply because hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent on finding treatments for the symptoms of diseases. Why? simply because their global aim is to make more profit by creating consumer dependency. By applying medications and creams that deal merely with the symptoms while ignoring the source or the internal cause of the disease, acne will never be cured. The average acne sufferer will become more and more reliant on drugs that temporarily calm the symptoms and that means steady income for the drug and pharmaceutical companies.

There's a lovely metaphor describing acne among other chronic diseases and the way modern medicine deals with these afflictions: If you manage to kill all the mosquitoes around a stale pond using chemicals, for a little while there will be no mosquitoes.

But since the source of the problem (what causes the mosquitoes to appear) is still there – the stale, disgusting pond where mosquitoes can find food and fertile ground for laying their eggs – mosquitoes will always come back!

The same thing happens with your acne!

Without eliminating the source of your acne condition, you will never get rid of your acne. Without fixing the internal problem that is causing your acne, you may find temporary relief, but your acne will always come back until you do something fundamental to eradicate the cause from within...until you make the pond (your body or internal system) a place where ‘mosquitoes’ cannot exist.

Ultimately, every disease results from a breakdown within your body. All major diseases and chronic conditions are warning signs of something very fundamentally wrong inside. Deepak Chopra refers to this as "The violation of simple laws of nature that make our body function."

The very surprising truth is that you are lucky for having acne. Let me explain...Acne, like constant headaches, irritable bowel syndrome or dandruffs is only a small message from your body that something is wrong internally and should be addressed and corrected.

Now, there are two choices you can make - you can:

1.Ignore that message - big mistake! The internal imbalance that caused your acne will, in most cases, turn into a chronic condition. Now instead of just having acne you'll start having other hormonal imbalance or toxic overload related symptoms in addition to acne. Because the internal problem is not fixed, the disease symptoms get more and more intense.

2.Listen to your body and start fixing the internal problem that causes your acne to appear in the first place; you will not only get rid of your acne you will also achieve beautiful, healthy, even toned clear skin complexion, re-balance your body and prevent future hormonal or toxic overload related conditions.

The simple truth is...you are out of balance. We now live a 'far-from-natural' lifestyle. There are over 300 synthetic industrial chemicals present in our bodies that did not exist 50 years ago. We are filled with toxins from the food, and medication we ingest and use.

By fixing the internal condition that causes your acne in addition to adopting a healthy lifestyle (healthy diet & mindset, cleanse & detoxify, hormonal balancing etc.) you will put your body back into balance – holistically - your acne will cease to exist and you feel as healthy and attractive as ever!

It doesn't matter what type of acne you have. Whether you suffer from: acne vulgaris, acne Conglobata, acne Rosacea, Acne Fulminans, Blackheads, Whiteheads, Papules, Pustules, Nodules or Cysts: The principles required to cure your acne are basically the same. The "holistic" ways of treating people have been around for thousands of years, and they absolutely work whether you have teen or adult acne; whether you suffer from acne on your back, shoulders or chest or if you suffer from female related acne such as menopause acne or acne due to monthly cycles.

Whatever your acne condition is, when you finally decide to stop making the same acne treatment mistakes that have been holding you back and begin applying the holistic approach to curing acne, you can literally choose to become clear and stay clear. You will have the power to make it happen.

Mike Walden is a certified nutritionist, independent medical researcher, natural health consultant and author of the #1 best-selling e-book, "Acne No More- Open The Door To An Acne Free Life." Many so called health experts claim that the ingredient propylene glycol is what they use in deadly radiator fluid. I too was duped in to believing this until I did my homework. Here are a few more facts on the “radiator fluid in my cosmetics” scare.

Propylene Glycol is used quite frequently in the cosmetics industry because it is a moisturizer and stabilizer of some types of emulsions. One of the things it does is It helps keep your lotions and potions from separating.

Dr. Peter T.Pugliese an expert in skin care formulations and creator of Circadia Skin Care writes in his book Skin, Sex and Longevity
,
“Propylene glycol has been given an underserved bad rap by some popular press items. Unless they understand the chemistry of the ingredient some people say really stupid things about ingredients.”

It is ethylene glycol that is the deadly ingredient in radiator fluid. Some radiator fluid makers have switch from the deadly ethylene glycol to propylene glycol because it is safer for the environment.

For more information on product ingredients you can go to http://cosmeticdatabase.com

Men And The UniBrow

Men, Are You Comfortable With Your Unibrow?

After being seduced by an e-mail, I was lured into a singles forum where I read a post by a gentle man who said that he was comfortable with his unibrow but had noticed that his matches would not respond after seeing his picture. His friend had told him to wax or shave his unibrow and he was wondering if it was that big of a deal.

My first thought was, ”Would you date a woman with a unibrow?”After reading several replies, it was clear that the vote was more than 10-1 that people were in favor of separation. The point was brought out that women have for years, gone to drastic measures to make sure their body hair is shaved, shaped or removed by some means. Be it shaved, waxed, tweezed or whatever, a well groomed man should not have a unibrow.

I remember doing business with a impeccably groomed man, but all I could think about as I sat across from him was jumping over the desk and trimming his brows. Maybe I take my work too seriously, but why let a few wild and unruly brow hairs or a unibrow keep you from looking your best?
Unlike a woman’s eyebrow, it’s really quite easy to take care of a man’s brow and this is what I recommend:1 – Don’t Shave!! A razor just can’t get exactly what needs to go and you don’t want an apparent rectangle between your brows. Plus the stubble that is left from shaving can sometimes even look worse.

2 – Don’t wax yourself…Especially your first time. Go to a professional and have them teach you how to do it correctly. I remember my first time waxing left my candidate with a hole in the middle of her eyebrow.

3 – Tweezing is best. You can take out the hairs you don’t want a little at a time.Again it’s best if you have a knowledgeable person tell you which hairs need to go and ones should stay. Remember that just a few eyebrow hairs can make a huge difference. If you have a severe unibrow bordering on Neanderthal, take a few hairs out a day so that you gradually diminish the brow and don’t shock your co-workers and acquaintances.

4 – If you have wild an unruly brow hairs, trim carefully. If you brush them all up and give them a trim you will end up with a brow looking like it has had a bowl cut. Trim the hairs carefully at an angle one at a time to make sure you don’t leave any holes.

Following these tips should still leave you with a masculine eyebrow, but well a groomed brow

For a more complete guide to eyebrows visit http://BrowsUnlimited.com

Hottest Item in the Beauty Industry

Every time I go to a convention I am fascinated by the technology. They've got a machine to treat any type of facial blemish or figure flaw. But all the lights, micro-currents and body jigglers can't compare with what mother nature has so abundantly blessed us with....shells.

Now you might wonder what shells have to do with beauty unless you've seen the all- natural heating Lava Shells. These shells are used for a hot (or warm) massage. They come from the Phillipine Islands and are the discard of the local's diet. Sanded and polished smooth these beautiful pink shells make a wonderful massage tool.
I first experienced Lava Shells by the hands of my capable massage therapist and was hooked. You can find out more about them from the article on my webpage janicebird.com

If your massage therapist does not have these shells, have them contact me, jbird@sparev.com

enjoy

Health Risks In Your Cosmetics?

You’ve heard it a million times before...Wash your hands! This is the best way to guard your health and avoid the worst of cold and flu season. But did you know that your cosmetics can harbor a host of bacteria? I’m sure you’ve heard or read about discarding your mascara after 3 months. Mascara is very susceptible to infection causing bacteria, so it is important to replace it regularly, even if it hasn’t dried up and you still have a lot left. Which is usually the case for me.

I don’t wear a lot of make-up, and although I know I shouldn’t, I have makeup that dates back at least 10 years.(mostly eyeshadows). I’m sure the chic color schemes of the 90's will be back. I’m extremely frugal when it comes to makeup, so I like to make my makeup budget go a long way. I Can’t imagine throwing out makeup as often as the experts say you should. Okay, I guess foundation, facial cleansers and moisturizers could be used up by six months. But what about the eyeshadows? The experts only give three months for mascara and other eye makeup. I can see the mascara, but what about pencils and eyeshadows? If you are like me and like variety, you have several different colors and hues which could be very expensive to replace every three months. But then again, eyes can’t be replaced and a nasty infection could cause serious problems. So, here are my suggestions...

Throw out the mascara every three months. Don’t use your fingers or dirty applicators in any of your makeup or moisturizers. Instead use cotton swabs, little plastic spatulas or small wooden sticks (like the kind used for stirring coffee.) Wash your makeup brushes often and notice changes in the color, texture or smell of your makeup

Here is a list with a general time line for shelf life:

Mascara and other eye makeup - 3 months

Liquid Foundation - 3 to 6 months

Blush - 6 months

Facial cleansers & moisturizers - 6 months

Lipstick - 1 year

Nail Polish - 2 years

To your health,
Janice Bird
Be Safe, Be Smart, and Be your own kind of Beautiful
Don’t forget to sign up for the monthly give-away at and remember to sign up for The Breakthrough Beauty Secrets Newsletter

Are There Germs Lurking In Your Paraffin Dip?

Are There Harmful Germs Lurking In Your
Paraffin Dip? Few things feel better than a paraffin
dip after a hand or foot treatment. But have you ever
wondered how many people have dipped before you,
and just what they may have left behind?
Research done at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas revealed that
bacteria such as Salmonella and E coli can survive in paraffin wax
after a dip. These germs could cause minimal health risks to the
healthy (more serious risks to those with compromised immune systems)
such as diarrhea and stomach sickness. Although the wax is heated, the
heat is not high enough to kill the bacteria.

What to do:

Ask your spa attendant how many people use the wax
in a day and what is done to sanitize their wax. Special
additives to kill bacteria are available that won’t compromise
the integrity of the wax.

Watch for a new product on the market that allows a one time
only paraffin treatment for either hand or foot in the form of a
pre-filled paraffin glove or bootie. No mess, sanitary
and comes with all the benefits of the paraffin dip without
the bacteria. It can be done at the spa or you can purchase
a kit for home use.

To your health,
Janice Bird

Be Safe, Be Smart, and Be your own kind of Beautiful

Don’t forget to sign up for the monthly give-away at JaniceBird.com

Getting A Great Massage, From Rocks to Shells

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better ....

Being a massage therapist I like to try the latest techniques that come
along to see if it is something I want to use in my practice. I’ve done the
Thai massage that seems more like a wrestling match being put in holds
until you say uncle. After some of those positions any massaging would feel good.

Then there was the electrical massage where the therapist hooked himself up to
electricity so electricity was shooting out his hands and proceeded to go where
no man or massage therapist had gone before!

Then I tried the hot stone massage. Awesome. I came out of that one so relaxed
my legs began to buckle and I hyper-extended my knee trying to save myself from
falling on my butt.

And the new trend is shells. Beautiful seashells filles with oil and stroked across
your body. We got to see a live demo this last weekend at an esthetic conference
I attended. Chakra and shells was the title and the result was a relaxed body with the chakras being aligned with the power of seashells. Maybe I should get the DVD and learn more.

Something coming out new this year is the seashells that can be heated or cooled
with a special gel inserted in an opening in the shell.. I’ll be volunteering for that demo!

Read More Articles at JaniceBird.com and sign up for the monthly newsletter, Breakthrough Beauty Secrets.

What You Should Know About Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC)

IBC or Inflammatory Breast Cancer has been in the news a lot lately, more so now since this month is breast cancer awareness month. IBC is not a common form of breast cancer, but one of which women should be made aware. It is often misdiagnosed and spreads rapidly. So please take the time to learn about it. Last April I came home from a business trip with a small red lump on my breast. I was hoping it was a bug bite, but in the back of my mind I kept thinking about an acquaintance of mine who had died from IBC. Getting the details of how she found it and her delayed diagnosis, I cautiously watched the red lump on my own breast. I tried all the remedies for bug bites and it was very slow to respond. But finally and thankfully it did go away. A couple of months later my daughter sent me a video clip with information on IBC and asked if I had ever heard of this form of cancer. I told her I had and asked her, " Why do you think I was so concerned with that bug bite I had?." So just be aware. Take care of yourself and visit http://www.ibcresearch.org/ for more information on IBC.

All the best
Janice
http://www.JaniceBird.com

What They Don't Tell You About Breast Implants

Since it is breast cancer awareness month I thought I’d talk about taking the fast lane to a better bustline with breast implants. Considering that I work with mostly women, I’ve seen a lot of apprehension to breast augmentation with implants. You might speculate that it takes successful habits to get into a good regimen for health and beauty. But more than that, success breeds confidence and and a confident person is a beautiful person. Have you ever seen head turns as a woman walks into the room and by today’s standards she has only average physical beauty, yet she draws the attention of most everyone she passes? That is the power of confidence. A confident person carries themselves differently than a unconfident person. A confident person exudes an energy that feels good to be around. To be more confident and to make success one of your beneficial habits go to http://www.janicebird.com and click on the article, "Making Success A Habit."

All the best,

Janice Bird

Be safe, Be Smart, Be your own kind of Beautiful

The Power Of Gemstones

Could the secret of physical, emotional, and spiritual healing come from inside the earth?

When I first heard about gemstone therapy I thought the person explaining it to me was a little over the edge. Each gemstone has its unique abilities to heal. My focus is on assisting women in finding and enhancing their own natural beauty. Does it Really Exist?

I’m the first to investigate a new anti-aging product or procedure, and have been for the last twenty years. Sometimes I’ve even gone so far as to indulge myself with the promise of eternal youth, but with all the new technology such as lasers, thermage, microcurrent and magic lotions and potions, there is always a cost. It might be the price, the risks or the inconvenience. (See full article)

The most recent one I tired was the electro-stimulation face lift. Several electrodes were placed on my face and the an electric current was emitted that caused my muscles to contract and have a mini work out while I just relaxed on a soft bed with gentle music. It takes about 10 treatments that are done twice a week to get to the maintenance level. After you reach the maintenance level a monthly visit is all you need to maintain your new "look-as-if-you’ve-had-botox" face. Some people see results in a couple of weeks, some need the full 10. Everyone is different. It really works and if you’ve got the time...and the money ( $85-$120 per treatment) you can have the face.

Now in the privacy of your own home, for as little as 10 minutes a day, facial exercise claims are that there really are things you can do that can help get that youthful jawline and line free forehead back. Would you be willing to give 10 minutes a day for a few weeks to try it and see for yourself? You can see the full article for a couple of good books on the subject.

Diligence and consistency are necessary to see results and maintain your non-surgical face lift. But the most important thing you can do is smile. It lifts the face and the spirits like nothing else.

And in parting I'd just like to mention that the new format for the Breakthrough Beauty Secrets Newsletter is up and running. Products have claims that may work for a few but not for everyone. The top sellers make it to the top due to marketing genius and not to results, while lesser known products that work well go unnoticed.

Sometimes less is more. The fewer the ingredients the less chance of a reaction. My favorite treatment for rosacea outbreaks, chapped lips and even eczema on children that is so bad that even the most gentle lotions cause discomfort, is organic coconut oil and a little seabuckthorn oil. Instant relief and moisturized skin. You can find out more about rosacea and it's treatments by clicking here. What works for you?

Feel free to leave a comment or a question.
